Hi, I have successfully installed MP 1.0.2 on my desktop, but when I try to install it on my laptop, it gets to the part where it needs to download things and gives me an error. First it said it couldn't download dx9, but I manually installed that and it skips it. But now it says something like "can't download vcredist2008. http://install.team-mediaportal.com/Vcredist2008 not responding." I tried going to that link manually and it doesn't exist. I tried downloading and installing this file manually from Microsoft but MP still tries to DL and install it. Another thread said that this link redirect problem was supposed to be fixed. I also read another thread about installing with the DeployTool. I have searched, but have no idea where to find this tool. Am I doing something wrong? Because this doesn't seem to be a common problem..

Hi David, which file have you searched for manually?
I reinstalled my system recently and apparently I have 2 versions of MS visual c++, being 2005 and 2008 - 9.0.30729.17 - in my list of installed programs.

Could it be that you don't have the right version so the installer tries to install one?
I install some of those packages manually and the installer marks them as state: installed and action: <no action>
