Try as I might I cannot get MP to play .VOBs from share... (1 Viewer)

Very new install, on very new PC, not even a tuner card (yet).

I have MP playing DVDs from the ROM drive, DD & DTS passthrough are working.

I have MP playing XVID & DIVX avis over smb. DD & DTS passthrough work here too.

But I cannot seem to get MP to play ripped single .vobs on the same smb share.

I've tried setting the movies codec to every thing currently on my system...

I installed the trial of Nvidia pure video, but that broke .avi playback.
I installed PowerDVD XP and tried..
Cyberlink mpeg muxer
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder

GUI disappears, screen goes blank, playback does not start. I have tried searching this board.

I installed VLC and can play the files in question no problem with VLC.

Any recommendations?

Any luck with this? I want to play back ripped .VOB files too.

Is Media Portal able to do this automatically or does something need to be configured?

No, no luck. It just ain't gonna happen.

2 options:

1) Rename files to .mpg
2) Use external player....

I plan on option 2, using zoom player.
