I am able to set up the recordings for shows without a problem. The scheduler looks like it's working. However, nothing ever gets recorded... Not really sure where to begin here, but I've tried about everything I can think of and still nothing will ever be recorded (even when I hit RECORD on live TV, I can hit stop, and the recording never shows up)... Anyone with ideas?

if you start TV ServerCofnig and select Recordings > Folders, what folder are you using for recordings?

Use a windows file explorer/browser to look at that folder do you see any recordings?

if you look at your TV Server log files "tv.log", do you see a recording start in the expected folder? for example I use L:\MePo\recordings

I'm using: "Z:\" (it's a mapped network drive, and it's connected without a problem). I do have log items like that, here's some of the log that I just tried:

hmm, not sure what to suggest, your log shows a problem finding audio from the channel. Does this channel work if you watch?

my log file shows the following and the tuner was returning audio/video in 0.06 secs, you see a 15 sec timeout

    Hi there,

Chances are the issue is due to you using a mapped drive...

The drive mapping is only available to the user who is signed on... the TVService is running as a service account (different user), therefore the Z: drive wont be available.

    You have two options:

    Switch to a UNC
Get the TVservice to run as the logged on user (which has the Z: drive mapping)

yea, no problem with audio while watching.

So, I just changed to my C drive, and it looks like it worked... but the problem now is that comskip.exe takes up 100% CPU after the recording stops, and basically it hangs the entire system. If I could make that play a little nicer, I'd be able to test this out... ha!

    Hi there,

Comskip has settings where you can "throttle" it back...you have to edit the ini file.

You could also look at Comskipmonitor (plugin) in addition to the ini file change.

Good fixes everyone. I set the play_nice items in the .ini file for comskip (no more 100% CPU usage there). I also set the recording drive to be local, and now there are no issues (except for that my hard drive is very small! haha). Thanks!
