I have a problem playing back .ts files.

This happens when I try to play back .ts files that have been copied to the client computers HDD, if I try to play back recorded TV or if I try to watch live TV from the TV server.

I just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and installed MediaPortal as a client on this.
The server is a Windows Vista machine. I have another computer with Window XP running as a client and there everything works well.

When I try to view recorded TV I get an error message like "unable to play: xxx".
When I try to view live TV i get another error message like "unable to play stream2.0".

Both server and clients are running 1.1.3.0.

It feels like it could be a codec problem. I have tried both K-Lite codec pack (standard and full) and now I am using SAF 5.01 but the problem is the same.

Any ideas?

Hello,
I can see this error in your log:

[ERROR][FilterChecker(5)]: TVHome: *** WARNING *** Unable to detect registered filter: TsReader.ax!

Doing a fast search in forum, I've found this:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/.../failed-playback-recordings-82577/#post621514

Here is the solution for that problem:
Registered the TsReader.ax file in the MediaPortal directory.

(Run cmd as Administrator, and then use RegSvr32)

The reason why the file wasn't registred during installation may be due to problems installing VS C++ redistibutables, which I then installed later.

Ahh ... thank you!

That was exactly the remedy I was looking for.
It did the job!

Many thanx
