In order to aviod these problems (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/.../delayed-sound-after-tv-channel-change-38726/) I followed the advice to configure MPA as audio decoder for TV. Now with this decoder, I don't get sound when playing some videos that were previously recorded with MP. Once I go back to PDVD7 sound is normal, so at this time MPA is no solution for me.

I have two small sample ts video files on request. Logs are attached.

    Hi,
You can try to use ffdshow (i use the latest tryouts found here by clsid) as audio decoder.

No - ffdshow as audio decoder in MP doesnt work either: same effect. Still the only decoder that plays sound on those videos is PDVD7.

    Any idea?

    *question*
could you check that MPA is set to "decode to speakers" and not to "passthrought spdif" in MediaPortal Configuration -> DirectShow Filters

    :D

    Hi,
After some testing(thx tourette for taking time to develope) today only solution seems to be:

    1. for XP users use ffdshow(one of the latest & modify in "ffdshow audio decoder configuration -> codecs -> MP1,MP2 to mp3lib + apply & ok"

    2. Vista users same as above or use Microsoft MPEG-1 / DD Audio Decoder

Btw, we will try to see if there are any other solutions & if we will of course do that but for now the above it's only way.

Update: For Cyberlink i've added a Mantis report so you can follow ;)

Yes, MPA was always set to "decode to speakers".

    Hi,
Good news for Cyberlink users(MPA will not work since it seems to not support MPEG1 Mono) ;)

Tourettes have now fixed TSReader.ax so it works just fine, if you want to test download new TSreader.ax & replace the one in MediaPortal dir.

    Thanks for testing & reporting

    Hi,
I downloaded the new TSreader and made a first test: it seems to work well.

But in my setup, the only problem with cyberlinks decoder was delayed audio (see separate post in the forum), which is still present with the new reader.

So since this issue is related to MPA decoder, will there be a fix? Or should everyone use ffdshow as audio decoder?
