    Contrast, that's something I haven thought :) .

Your screen is wide, so my guess is that TV isn't scaled to fit it. In the configuration there is a calibration option for the screen size, maybe that's all that needs to be done. I have a 16:9 TV, but because it's CRT I can only use S-Video which seems to output at 4:3 no matter what :( .

I will check that, ut I don't think its the answer as I works sometimes, for instance, bbc1, bbc2, itv1, channel4, five, all work perfect everytime. But E4, more4 and a couple of others suffer this problem but sometimes they're fine.

Plus if I record a show with this problem on live tv, and then replay the file on another machine it works fine!

Well, I fixed it by installing a base image with all the latest drivers etc. and a clean MP2.0.0. And I must say its working really well!

I've also done a format and clean install recently. This seems to have fixed some audio issues that I had with MPA :) , but it's not the first time that suddenly I loose audio one one channel and had to use another codec.

    Well, mine is literally
    - Windows
    - Latest Drivers (Nvidia, Dvico, etc.)
    - MP with MPV\MPA only
    - FFDShow

And so far its working brilliant! (Only 7-8 hours though)
