Hi all,

I want to know if there's a way to add extra actions (?) to a remote mapping. I'm using the remote with came with my TV card (Leadtek CoolCommand remote) and the CoolReceiver plug-in (which just uses the standard device mapping).

What I want, though, is to be able to have a single remote button click, when watching full-screen live TV, that turns live TV off (and maybe goes back to the previous window). I can't find a standard "action" to turn live TV on/off. If I'm watching full-screen live TV, it takes about 6 button presses to turn off live TV.

The main reason I want to do this is so that I have a quick way to get MediaPortal "idle", so that standby kicks in. If there's some other way to achieve this quickly, please let me know.

Hi

If you have a button mapped to the home screen and you're watching Live TV (no Timeshifting) MP will go to the home screen and turn off the TV.

Hi McChots,

Seems like timeshifting is always on, though, by default with TV server. And I can't find a command or keyboard shortcut to turn off timeshifting. Also, if I'm watching live TV, then go to either the previous screen (MyTV) or back to home, it still leaves TV running and shows it down in the bottom left-hand corner.

I use 2 actions for it and it seems to work:
1. go back to home screen (Green Button)
2. stop playback (stop button)

Thanks Mouch.net - but this doesn't really seem to be the answer for me either ..... the stop button does not turn off live TV.

Does anyone know of an action or some other trigger that can be used to turn off live TV from the home page?

p.s. also, let me know how you go from watching live TV to idle so that the PC will go into standby?

The stop button doesn't work for me either if live TV is in Full screen.
Be sure to change screen (Home screen is juste one option) before pressing stop button

Thats by design (i.e. stop button not stopping live tv when in full screen). This is to reduce the issues when user presses stop accidently and loses the timeshifting buffer data.

Not possible, unless you modify the MP source code. Althou I cant see why it would be any harder to press back + stop. Both are using two key presses. Also if you press the green button on MCE remote control + stop you can MP to shut down automatically (as MCE green button opens the main screen.).
