OK. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or knows a way to fix this:

I search for tv channels and get nothing. -close mp setup
then I use blazeDTV that is the software supplied with. and I get all the channels... GREAT -close blaze
then I try MP again and it finds 1 tv channel (i suspect it was the last station i was watching because another time it found 1 radio station after i was watching kiss radio.)
then I look into channle list... nothing there. - close mp setup
I try blaze again works fine - close blaze
I try searching within MP finds 1 channel but doesnt store it - close mp

now im here.

I was wondering if not a fix, maybe a channel list from someone in my area that i could import would be cool. I live in macclesfield atm in cheshire, and im pretty sure that im using the winter hill arial in UK... I want to try a manual adding of tv channels cos i think it will work.

Sounds like BlazeDTV has locked onto the tv card, make sure there are no services running, that are installed by the blaze software, prior to scanning.

Long term you may want to uninstall the blaze software if it cannot be easily disabled, and just leave the driver installed.

Ok, taking on board what you said, I uninstalled blazetv as closing the app was according to your theory not good enough. I also uninstalled presto pvr and some dtv-reader app that I had no Idea was in my programs list (although it seemed to be something from presto that was installed as a separate program or something).

Anyways, so now my pc has only mediaportal able to read dvb-t cards... same problem... found 1 radio channel. whats funny is that it says that it is "getting info" at the places that I expect a channel and has full signal strength and quality most of the time but does nothing with respect to saving and for the channel i WAS watching, it says that it found it but never adds the channel.

btw, something I failed to mention was that on the manufacturers site (where the seller referred me to to get the vista compatible drivers) it says:

AF9005 does NOT support MediaCenter in Windows XP or Windows Vista. It only works with specific DVB-T applications which can support PID filter.

I thought MP DID support PID filters so I assumed that this was irrelevant... is this a major problem or is there a way to solve this problem?...

Im going to try to uninstall, restart and reinstall just before I hit the hay, I'll let you kno if that solved the problem tomorrow ;)

    Thanks for your input.

After uninstalling all and reinstalling MP and restarting, I get worse problems first time it just had no signal quality and never found any channels: its not even getting info like it was before. Then any attempts after that was superfast and found nothing still.

I tried to install tvserver3 to see if that would help but the capture cards section is blanked out... infact that applies to all but TV Post Processing and Teletext and the main Television part.

    Any suggestions?

Maybe someone has a channel list that they can export and send to me for winterhill? I still think that it might work if the tv tuning is done for it.

    PLEEASEE,

I really want to see the tv engine in progress... can someone send me their channel findings from wintehill.

I think that this would work... if not, then so be it.. but its worth a try.

hey, I just read that my dvb-t card anly reads sd-tv not hdtv... which means im confused but hey, im always confused :p

i did wonder why my channels were a lil fuzzy with blazedtv, seems freeview is available in sd?... or mayb this card only reads the low end hdtv... anyways, maybe this is why mp wont find anything... its not actually looking for the right thinsg.. anyone who knows about tv... can you let me know if this is true and how to fix it (mayb the solution is>> chuck it away and buy a better card)

btw, im in uk macclesfield... winterhill is my freeview point thing
