TV Client: Unknown Error Occurred (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

I have MediaPortal running on my main HTPC and everything is working fine over there.

I am now wanting to set it up on this machine so that I can watch TV also on this machine. At the moment I am able to stream video files from the main HTPC to here however, when I try to watch TV I receive the message "Unknown error occurred".

The channels show up and the EPG data comes up (ie it's showing me what show should be playing) but its not actually showing me the TV.

Hi,

check the Version of the MP Server! In the error.log there is the following error recorded:

2012-03-04 12:50:32.230595 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: TvPlugin and TvServer don't have the same version.
TvServer Version: 1.1.2.0
TvPlugin Version: 1.2.2.0

Do they have to be the same version to operate properly?

Because as you have posted that is correct. My TV server is 1.1.2 and my TV plugin is 1.2.2 because I just installed it today

i think they have to be the same versions but i am not sure because i dont use multiseat feature and always updated Client and TV Server together. its just the only error i can find within you logs
maybe someone else can confirm that?

You might get away with small differences (e.g. 1.2.1 and 1.2.2), but I shouldn't think that the more recent version would be compatible with 1.1.2 (which is very old indeed).

You will need to upgrade your server first and then come back for support if you are still having problems.
