Wow this is great software! I’ve been sampling lots of different Multimedia Management Programs and MediaPortal was a pleasant surprise. I don’t have a TV tuner card but I have the “AVerTV Purity 3D MCE 500” Dual TV tuner card arriving in a couple days along with the new “AVerMedia Remote Wonder™ II”.

Anyhow, I spent about 6 hours with the TV Guide set up and I can’t get any data to display. More specifically, I was able to import all the channels that I needed through the set up program and when I go to MY TV / TVGuide in MediaPortal I see the channel names and numbers but the data that displays the name of the television shows doesn’t show up. Instead I get the words “No Data Available” next to every channel. – I ultimately tried several programs that were supposed to make an Tvguide.xml file but I screwed the file up and dumped the Tvguide.xml. How do I make this file and where am I supposed to get the data from. Nothing I have done seams to work and like I said have been at this for quite a few hours and I refuse to give up on this software. I love this software and the GUI interface.

Yeah I, read the instructions until I was blue in the face I need to start fresh. Can anyone shed some light on how to get the TV guides listings data?

:( NEXT Problem … :(

I would like to use MediaPortal on my 32” TV via “multi screen” but when I drag MediaPortal to the second screen (screen 2 - TV screen) and try to open it in “ full screen” mode it disappears off (screen 2) and reverts back to my main computer monitor (screen 1). Is there a solution to this problem because I think that MediaPortal is the best solution to my media networking needs and the best GUI on the market?

… any suggestions?

You need to run the EPG prg (like webEPG.exe), ie. with setting it as a scheduled assigment. To do this, you need to have a password assaigned to you XP-account (strange, I know).

The latest SVNs has this as a plugin. This way (I belive) you don't need a password (as it operates as a process).

I belive something happends.... but you just don't notice it :). If you have set the WebEPG correctly, your channels should now contain EPG.... perhaps not for the first hours, though...

    Password for XP account, yes.

    or

Try using latest SVN and enable the "WebEPG grabber"-plugin (and configure it, off course). Not sure, but I belive this dosen't need password.

    Good luck!
