I've used MediaPortal for quite some time now on Windows XP sp3 with hauphauge analog tuners on an old crappy emachine, for the most part it has been flawless and a good use of an otherwise not needed desktop anymore. The issues I have ran into I have always been able to hunt down the solutions in the forums, but this one has me stumped please help if you can!
First off, right in the middle of watching TV, I got an "unknown error" and live tv stopped. I restarted the computer and when I got back to media portal I had the same problem, no data in the tv guide, and no video would display still showing "unknown error" as an error message. I proceeded to remove the xcml tvguide, and then let it pull down all the channel info again. Still same problem. I then dug up info on how to repair the DB. I repaired DB but still had the same problem.
I then noticed that 1.1.1 was available now, so I figured the heck with it, I would upgrade and see what happens. I downloaded and installed the update. Now I have my picture back with video, but still no TV Guide data? I am running out of idea's now to be honest. I checked the error log, and I now get:
"System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime."
I am not a seasoned programmer, but what I am finding that a common problem that causes this error is when the date is listed as dd/mm/yyyy instead of mm/dd/yyyy in other instances I am finding on google search. But I never changed anything, and did not play with the program code? I suspect I may still have a DB problem, but I am not sure if I should delete the whole DB and start over or what? If this is what I should do, any pointers as to how to do this?
The funny thing is, as shown in screenshot1.jpg the data of the channel name and the show playing appears to working fine, when I go fullscreen view of the live feed, there is no description appearing anymore at the bottom of the screen when I mouse over, and of course as seen in screenshot2.jpg the TV Guide is not populating at all.
Please help, and
in advance!
