The HDMIOn program did work for me....but only intermittently. I hate to say it but I took the easy way out and swapped my ATI card out for an Nvidia card. Just a thought if all else fails...

@ nogoer - Do a google search for "HDMIon" or "HDMIon.exe"
PS. with the latest drivers for win7 / xp, the issue of HTPC on before display shouldn't matter anymore.
if still having problems make sure all the GPU/Display power saving features are off.

I also had problems with OnBoard Solution ATI HD 3300 . HDMIOn didn't help and all other tricks also not.
Now I have a ATI HD 5450 and no problems anymore. Also I hadn't changed the driver after I put the ATI 5450 in, I think that is not only a driver bug. Also this is 3 months in the past. Maybe something had changed with the new drivers and the onboard cards.
