Same for me. Can't turn on the TV, black picture, no audio. I've deleted the cal800x600.xml file but that didn't fix it. Reïnstalled the PVR350 drivers, tried all the codecs but unfortunately nothing worked.

MyTV problem - solved?

I have had a grey picture since installing RC3. By grey picture, I mean my TV image appeared to have a 'veil' over it that made the picture grey and not really viewable. I was able to see the image beneath this 'veil' and it appeared to be the correct image of the TV channel I choose.

I tried various things with codecs, concluding that it was probably a codec problem but nothing I tried worked. I regularly installed newer CVS versions (now SVN) as they became available but that didn't help either.

Finally, I uninstalled MP and then deleted all the folders under 'Team Media-port' and did a clean install of RC3, followed by the latest SVN (4-09). This, I did, after keeping what I wanted in the 'Team Media-portal' directory. Specifically, these were XMLTV sub-directories, including my tvguide.xml as well as the programs for my IR-200L remote used with my iMon remote.

I got TV with proper colour images after that! The images were however, very jaggered. Again, I tried everything I knew in the codec settings. Nothing I did helped until I registered the Elecard demultiplexer again. Upon rebooting, my TV image was back to normal, as I had in RC2! However, I am still without sound. Funny thing was I had sound before registering the Elecard demultiplexer! Still working on this bit. Anyone with any ideas, please point me in the right direction!

Still trying to get My Recipes plugin as well as Sudoku, to work. Was looking up the installation instructions for My Recipe but not finding it yet.

I hope this helps some of you with this problem. A clean install appears to be the way to go with RC3, at least for the first time. It is a bit of a pain, particularly if you have installed various other plugins and have XMLTV working well before but it appears it is most painless to start again in the long run, if my experience is anything to go by.

Hi,

Mediaportal 0.2RC3
+ mediaportal-cvs-04-01-2006--17-20.rar
+ mediaportal-svn-04-07-2006--01-11.rar

I think the problem occurs only when MP starts in fullscreen mode!

I cant view TV in fullscreen when MP starts in fullscreen. (MPConfig General Tab => Start MediaPortal in full screen mode)

I start MP in the Window Mode, maximize it to fullscreen and start the TV and go to TV fullscreen => it works in fullscreen.

MP start in full screen mode and the wrong display resolution is set with load calib1036x780.xml

I cant use full screen tv first time TV is started => wrong TV fullscreen resolution is set for first time

Then i hit EXIT => STOP => TV is off => the screen appears black and reset the display resolution
After that i start TV and the fullscreen woks with the right display resolution

Similar problem only at first boot

Hauppauge PVR-350
MP RC3 svn-04-11-2006--17-15
Intervideo Video decoder
Windows XP Mce Sp2
Pentiun 4 3.0 Gb
512 Mb Ram

Hi all, I have a similar problem: when I boot (or reboot) my pc, open Mediaportal and go to Tv, I can hear audio but I can't see Tv (I can see only a dark gray screen). I have already tried all video codecs and also I have tried last Hauppauge drivers.

But, if I start MCE, open the Tv (for few seconds), stop Tv and close MCE then start MP, I can see Tv perfectly (also after suspend and resume) !!!!! :?:

In the log there isn't FAILED or other errors...

It seems to be a startup initialization problem of Hauppauge PVR-350...

Have you a solution or is there another thread on this problem??

Thanks a lot in advance!!

From what you have said, it does look like driver initiatlization problem.
Unfortunately too many posts on hauppage cards with similar faults believe dman_lfc already knows this. But this info will always backup/confirm issues

    thanks

    Hi,
I'll try to develop a program (with WMencoder, too) that, at clean startup (not resume, etc), wakes up the Hauppauge recorder (only for five seconds) then closes itself and starts MP..

By this way perhaps in MP the Tv will work also at first boot, without open and close MCE Tv...
