I have a big problem with mediaportal locking up, been working on this for most of the day and I'm almost done in
First of all, its a new install of windows xp sp3 as its the only version I have, next, the first install of mediaportal went ok till I messed up the tuner card, silly me had an old driver, fixed that and scanned for channels, got them and tested a few, worked fine then I watched a couple of video clips from my home server, that worked fine but going back to the tv caused media portal to lock up, things got a little complicated after that and I had to do a clean install of mediaportal, the tv service went loopy followed by mysql throwing up error messages :-(
State of play now, mediaportal installed ( no tweaks, just as it is at install except the tuned channels and video folder) on xp sp3, tv card working and channels tuned in, video folder set up as the spliffy online plug in installed ( need it to watch uk catchuptv ) Problem : watching movie in any format or watching something from the online plug in works fine but go to tv and mediaportal freezes up, stopping it in taskmanger doesnt help and reboot often brings things back, once or twice its messed up the tv service so had to reinstall that.
I cant work out whats going wrong and at present I cant get the logs because I cant get to the pc with mediaportal on it, non of the egp's seem to work so I use the inbuilt one. The pc is a new build.

( Nothing over or under clocked / volted, the lot uses 29 watts idle and some 45 watching HD content )
Another problem is getting Mediaportal to sleep,I use a usb receiver and remote, because the motherboard doesnt support wake from usb, I use a home made kit that controls the power switch from command intercepts for power toggle, ( it uses an opto coupler across the power switch ) the rest of the commands are fed to the usb bus and emulate the keyboard. It works fine but mediaportal wont let windows sleep, if I select sleep from inside mediaportal, when I wake the pc, mediaportal tv locks up.
If anyone could suggest anything, it would help a great deal.
