This is my first post so be gentle !

I have been trying to use the latest alpha version and appear to have an issue with AC-3 audio from both SD and HD channels.
As soon as I enable 'Prefer AC-3' in the audio settings any channel broadcasting this format will freeze MP.
I have previously used this facility in both 1.01 and 1.02 versions.

Hopefullly I have attached a relevant log file.

Have you tried another audio-codec? seems like the filters can't interconnect, judging from the log...

    Thanks for the advice.

I have tried other decoders but would appear the problem lies beyond MP so I am at present undertaking a rebuild to hopefully sort the issue.

Is there an option to use "one of the best" codecs in the Music part of MediaPortal?

Don't use PDVD8 audio codec, is one of the worst. Try instead "ffdshow-tryouts", one of the best !

In Music, Player Settings there is an option under General Settings to select internal dshow player instead of BASS engine. Is it where I could potentially deselect BASS and maybe select ffdshow one day? BASS may be great for some people, but I have some issues with it, like I can't for example play audio CD (see here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-1-0-alpha-453/unable-play-audio-cd-67763/ and here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?p=483029;#post483029) I am getting an audio codec error message and nobody can help me. And I must download and place soft fonts manually if I want to use MIDI.
