no point.. as you can't view TUTV channels with MP (and they are all being removed anyway).

I don't know where you got your information from but you actually can receive and view TopUpTV channels in MediaPortal.
Also TopUpTV are adding more channels with extra subscription fees rather than removing them.
i.e. Setana Sports on March 1st and Picture Box which is available now.

TUTV are removing their 'classic' channels and have moved to an 'anytime' package - which requires their PVR box.

setanta sports is NOT a tutv channel.. it just uses TUTV's encrpytion system.

as for them not removing channels... you obviosuly haven't noticed that discovery has been removed fom their 'classic' package and they now only have 4 time-shared channels (http://www.topup.tv/current.html). these will eventually be phased out completely and it will be the 'anytime' product only... which requires their PVR box to view.

picturebox is only available via the 'anytime' product.. not viewable via mediaportal.

Sure but you can view them 'today' in MP.
I wasn't talking about the shite Anytime product which force 100gigs of tv onto your HDD for you to view whether you want them or not.
Yes I forgot PictureBox was an adhoc PPV product - sorry folks.

TUTV's strategy is a poor one and thus will alienate their existing customers. Alternatively though it's a educated gamble as until the digital switch over they're restricted on the number of Mux's and thus channels available in parrallel. I guess it will keep some people sort of happy.

they didn't have much choice BUT to move to their 'anytime' product. channel five took a big chunk of their bandwidth for their own use, which left TUTV have to drop channels. once they dropped them their original product became not viable. they either had to change or close.

i agree the anytime product is rubbish - as someone said - it's 'yesterdays TV tomorrow'.

the existing 'classic' channels will eventually cease to be, and it is expected that it will end up being British Eurosport being the only 'classic' channel to survive.
