I have just done a fresh install of media portal 1.2.2 with streamdmp and SAF6. im having issues with playing dvb-t tv. TV seems to work fine for a good 5 minutes or more and then the picture freezes for 30 seconds (sound still plays). then the it will resume as normal for 5 minutes and then repeat. I have turned off my anti virus as i thought that might be the cause but im a bit suck. im running windows 7 x64 amd 4000+ ATI4850HD graphics card.
can someone help me?

You'll need to provide logs. Look in the bug reporting section of the forum for instructions.

It looks like you are getting bad TV signal dropouts - have you got any other TV software installed (other than the TV card drivers) which might be trying to use the card at the same time as MP ?

which is usually due to either really bad signal problems or (as you say) driver/card access issues.

Has this hardware been used with MP before (you have been a forum member for some time) ?

Does it work OK with other TV software e.g WinTV or DVB viewer etc ?

yes ive used mediaportal for about 4 years and its been pretty stable only with the odd little stutter. its only since i upgraded to 1.1 or 1.2 that the issue has started happening. i havent tried the other software like wintv. ill download it and give it a try now and post my results

You'll need to stop TVServer running to allow other software to work - use TV server config to do this or type "net stop tvservice" in a cmd window with admin privileges.

    HI Owlsroost.
Last night i installed winTV and for some reason, even after stopping the Mediaportal TVservice - alli could see was a blank screen. All channels were detected in wintv but it wouldnt show anythign. Anyway i completley uninstalled my TV card from device manager, rebooted, re installed, rebooted and re mapped channels to the card in mediaportal and everything seems to be working so far. I watched the news for about 30 mins thismorning before work and it didnt stutter once.

So i think may have been a dodgy driver in the mix somewhere. Thank you very much for your help
