Hi,

I finaly got everything up and running.
But I'm not very happy with the tv quality.
I watch tv via analog cable
When I watch TV directly on my TV the quality is good,
but when I watch TV via mediaportal (so with hauppauge hvr-1300)
the image quality is a bit blurry

example: when there is a box on tv in 1 color the color is full of little dots
I don't know if it is the hauppauge tv card (i thought it was a good one)
or if it is the codec?
At the moment I use ffdshow (when I go to mediaportal configuration - Television)

Is there another better option i should use?
Or should I use a filter (in the post image/picture section)

It could also be related to how u connect ur pc to ur TV.

Sinse you are using analoguge, you might wanna fiddle with the quality settings that MisterD implemented for some cards.

In TVServer, hit EDIT on your HVR-1300, and configure screen below:

low is even worse.
medium, high and default is almost the same except the file size is a lot larger
Ill do so more tests

Use "Custom settings", and set them to 100. Use "Variable bit rate (...)" peak or average.

should be ok then, but check ur TV for 1:1 pixel (pixelmapping) when playing around with mp settings so there are no filters added in ur TV-set.

Same remark as Tompa. Does your TV accept native resultion through HDMI?

My Samsung TV f.i. is 'HD ready', it only accepts HD (1920x1080) resolution on the HDMI input, but the screen is 1366x768. Using the HDMI interface gives a very poor picture quality, VGA is excellent.

When you say analogue cable do you mean analogue terrestrial TV and are you connected straight up to your tuner?? You are not using a set-top-box and connecting up via S-Video or composite connection are you?
