I did see a topic or two on this but didn't really see any simple answer to it. I'm wondering if anyone who has had this problem can give me a good answer as I'm getting a little frustrated.

I have just about everything working right now and want to use Media Portal as I like the way it looks and having everything together. I also like that it works pretty well with my remote. My only problem is that everytime I set something up I have to go and make a hundred changes to it to actually get it to work the way it's supposed to.

It's picking up the tv correctly now and I can record if I just hit record while I'm watching. However, if I do a scheduled recording it puts it in the scheduled recordings menu shows it waiting and even shows it as done if I come to it after the appointed time but it's not actually recording anything. Where should I be looking to figure out why that is or just to fix it altogether?

Sorry, I know I should be entering the suport template I'm just mainly at work when I'm doing this as I have moved my computer and it's not online at the moment. I will get that up soon though. I do appreciate the help.

Also, in order to get the appropriate logs what do I do? I am a fairly big novice at this so please be as specific as you can. Thanks.

    You go through the steps that cause the problem and then retreive the mediaportal.log file. Try to do it in as minimum steps as possible to reduce the amount of info we have to look through.

    There are a couple things I'll say in regards to this before I paste the logs in here. One, the Video and audio codecs, I wasn't sure if I should put the ones that I had assigned in MPs settings or the ones that are in my systems information folder and how to tell if their was a difference. I put the ones that I had selected in the settings for MP. Two, I know you said to try to keep the error logs short but I had a few of them in their so I really wasn't sure which one would help you so I'm putting all of them in. I assume you know what the problem is from my previous posts. Sorry I didn't use the template before and I hope these posts of mine aren't getting too tiresome.

    One other thing I'll say about this that I didn't includer earlier. I'm using this with directv d11 settop box and as I haven't been able to find drivers to work with the IR Blaster or a way to make the USB port on the back of the box work just yet I'm only trying to make a timed recording. The Box has it's own autotune option which worked ok with this method when I used it with an older BTV software but since I'd prefer to use MP and had a different problem with BTV I uninstalled BTV. I don't know if that makes any difference or not but I figured I'd try to include as much info. as possible in case any of it is helpful. Thanks again.

    Do not recognise above, could it be part of BTV, if you change your audio decoder in MP setup/Television, to MPA or Descaler, see if that helps.

    yeah actually that's an old usb audio out device that I was using but now is disconnected I must have forgot to change the setting. That would stop it from recording huh? I'll try that out. Thanks.

    OK so I went into settings and changed the audio renderer and it still doesn't work. Any other idea on what it might be?

    Record now works fine, but my scheduled recordings won't start?
