hey guys,
I have just installed the tv series plugin and it looks like it will be a great plugin for me. However i have a number of tv seasons on dvd which i am in the process of splitting them into a dvd per episode containing ifo's etc.. However i cannot find a way to get the plugin to realise these are tv episodes and catalogue them. I tried manually but the episodes dont appear in mediaportal. I have then under the folder structure of TV Show/Season x/Episode x and then audio_ts and video _ts... is this even possible using dvds or should i be converting them into videos instead... which i am trying now btw but a 1gb dvd file takes about 25mins to convert to x264 :(

You dont need to convert them, i have all of mine stored this way Series/Series - seasonxep - title/ then the audio and video ts folders are under it. I dont have the reg expressions handy, i will try and post them later. But if you search this forum you should find them, i (and other people) have posted some that work.

Hope this helps

    Hello crazyfool!

I thinh its better to convert them! I have tried it about a half year, asked for help, tried a lot of Expressions/Rules -> it doesn't work. With .avi-files there is no problem! Converting the files is IMO the easiest way, to get it work!

    Best Regards

well i used .vob files in the end which worked as far as being detected but it seems i cant forward or rewind the episodes which sucks... so Helios61 what software do you use to convert them and what bitrate etc... looks best or closest to the source

Use the x264 codec to convert them. It gives the best quality with a smaller file size. You should look into MeGui to do the transcoding. It is free and will do what you need. There is a bit of learning involved to do proper x264 encodes but the results are worth it.
