heres the deal i recently upgraded my server slash tv downloading computer to vista so that is probably the issue, all my episodes are on a 1.5tb drive shared over the network but now when i launch mediaportal and go to tv series its always doing a full local scan and reimporting from the internet it completely hangs the comp. for 4-5 min. while it does it i have tried moving a few shows over just to make sure it wasnt the mediapc and all works correctly its just that when it does its first scan after launch it locks everything up. any one know any tricks for sharing from vista ultimate to xp pro in mytvseries that works like xp to xp.

I am experiencing this problem as well at the moment.
I am not sure it has something to do with Vista, because my Server has always been running Vista and this is a problem that sort of comes and goes.
I suspect perhaps a new version of tvseries, since I have recently upgraded my StreamedMP and it includes both newest MovingPictures and TVseries.
It has happened to me before, but eventually it stopped again.
The way it happens to me is I enter Tvseries and see the symbol that it is rescanning. I can still navigate in series view and in season view. But the moment I enter Episode View, MP hangs. I enter the view, but everything is blank and MP just hangs. Sometimes I have been waiting, and it starts again, but other times I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL MP - when I return, sometimes all of the series names has turned red.

So your problem dissappeared when you removed a watched folder, that was empty? Is this on a local Harddrive or on a networked Harddrive (in server/Nas/etc.)?
Perhaps the problem for us with Networked Harddrives is because something is slowing down the network, making the folder look empty and therefore causing the same problem as the above. Just throwing ideas here, I have no idea if this is plausible...
