TV Server, Can it do this? (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I use MP right now only for Video (avi) files. I might play with the TV Server, but have one question. With the TV Server, how does it work with the client? I mean, what is viewable on the client side? Would the client be able to se emy other video files, Pictures, ect or is this just for viewing the same TV info?

You can view other content (videos, music, pictures) via network shares.
Only TV, radio & EPG is directly streamed from TVServer to client.

OK, it's all starting to come together now. One more quick question if you have time.

I like my currently MP setup, but I orientally installed it with out the TV Server component. Is there a way to install TV Server while keeping my existing setup intact?

I do not know whether it is possible to add the TV-server with a re-install. But you can save your settings with this Plugin. It is also possible to save the complete folder of MP and replace the settings, most of them are xml-files, with the old ones. Check your future TV-Card in our forum, BEFORE you begin. And it is also helpful to fill out your system-specs in your control-center and show them the other guys, so they can help faster on specific hardware problems.

I installed TV Server, to my surprise, my Media Portal Settings where intact. I configured TV Server a bit, but can not figure out how to access the TV section to view it. There is nothing TV related in the Media Portal Menu.

I was expecting to see something in the MP Menu for TV, am I missing something blatantly obvious?

Do you configured the TV correct in MP-Config? The test of any TV-Channel in TV-Server config was successful?

And did you install the TVClient plugin as well?
Look in your progtram files\team meadiaportal\mediaportal\plugins\windows directory.

Everything seems to working now. I'm really not sure what happened the first time, so I went for a reinstall. I really love the flexibility of Media Portal. It's addicting trying to get ti working to my liking. Anyway, thanks for the help guys.
