TV Server configuration won’t start (1 Viewer)

Hi MP republic,

MP configuration and the program starts, BUT for some reason my TV Server configuration won’t start, and I can’t make any changes.

MP program is totally empty, no channels, TV.

I did change the PC name; I don’t know if that the reason for the MP TV Server impasse, I do get a dialog window that reads:

"Failed to startup tvservieSystem.NullReferenceException: Object reference not setTvservice to an instance of an object."

I include a picture of the error code dialog box.

Hi MM, thank you for your answer regarding my MP troubles, I already went thru all PC name resets back and forth but nothing, the TV Server configuration won’t start, I still get the error dialog box (included below).

Is there any way to edit the MP TV Server configuration or the PC TV card controllers to an old name or new name?

No problem.

I already went thru all PC name resets back and forth but nothing, the TV Server configuration won’t start.

After changing the name back to what it was before you need to stop and restart the TV service. This can be done in the Windows service management. Right click on "my computer" and select "manage". Expand "services and applications" on the left and select "services". Find the "TVService" service and restart it.

If that doesn't help, please could you zip and post all the TV Server logs from "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log". You may need to copy + paste that path into the address bar in Windows Explorer because ProgramData is a hidden folder. Note it is ProgramData not Program files.

I changed the PC name back to what it was before & stopped and restarted the TV service, yet the MP TV Server Configuration wont start.

I am sending the error zip file you requested; again I am truly GRATEFUL for you help.

Hi MM, sorry I don’t understand how to “zip the logs as a question.”

You have found the TV service error log file, and you've zipped that and attached it.
The only difference between what you've done and what I'm asking you to do is that you include all the other log files - TVService.log, TsWriter.log, StreamingServer.log etc. - in the zip file.

It works!!! It seems that there was a conflict with old SQL DB server files, so I deleted the MediaPortal suit completely including all SQL DB Files.

Then I re-installed MP from scratch and eureka! It works!!!

The TV signal keeps breaking but I guess is the signal itself.
