Long description: I started to try a dedicated home(theatre) server, so, because of the dedicated server thing, I installed ms server 2008 enterprise (thanks to msn :p), even if i know that it was not supported, but also know that there are ppl out there with working rigs. Installation was like everyday: 1. OS 2. Updates 3. Some roles 4. Updates again 5. Drivers + TV-Card Software 6. Database 7. MediaPortal (TV-Server only) Everything fine so I wanted to do a channel search, but everytime the TV-Server didn't find anything. So I tested the sat-connection by using DVB-Viewer, which is included by my TV-Card, and there were absolutely no problems. After wasting some time of trying to get it work I installed XP on the maschine. Same procedure: 1. OS 2. Updates 3. Drivers + TV-Card Software 4. DVBFix 5. Database 6. MediaPortal (TV-Server only) Tried to scan for channels ... same problem as before, no signal found. So I tried to find differences between the new server, and the still running single-seat installation of MediaPortal on my future-Client and recognized the only difference is that on the server there's no client installed. So I started the MP installation again and installed both, client and server and it worked (on both operating systems) 100% reproducible! greetz ownagi [/QUOTE]
