I removed mediaportal 1.0 RC4 and SQL
After installing mediaportal 1.0 (with tv HD viewing) I connected to to the TV server (chose Microsoft SQL Server 2005), and got the question "the TV-Server is not running. Start it now?" Answered yes, waited for some time and got an error. (error.log). I also attached TV.log to be sure.
Does anyone know what is wrong?

I don't know what is wrong, but manually restarting tvservice from Services did the trick for me. after that everything is working as expected.

    Problem solved

I think the problem were previous SQL installations. I cleaned up my system by backing up everything I wanted to keep, and simply installed vista again. Now everything looks to be working fine.:p

Last week I did clean install of Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1+TV Pack 2008 + MediaPortal 1.0.

I'm suffering from the same issue as the title of this thread states - TV Server can't start. I can manually start/restart/stop TV Service from services.msc, but TV Server Configuration gives me always this error. I remember having this same issue with few RCs back, maybe the same .dll patch is required with 1.0 too?

    Hi Quental,

I did not mention that after my last fresh Vista install and new MP install I chose MY SQL5. For me, this SQL version seems stable. I had to first re-install Vista, because if I simply installed MY SQL5 I could not connect to te TV server.
