Ok, ive been trying a few things out. 1. It seems that the fix mm1352000 mentioned has paritall worked (epg would still fail). The problem seems to be with the client PC (acer revo r3610), this particular client would cause the server to stop working (until a service restart). The other clients quite happily work (tested of 3 days) 2. My dvb-t tuner broke, so whilst waiting to get it replaced I tried windows 7. Windows 7 dvb-t works fine just like in xp, the dvb-s2 on the other hand, randomly finds channels during a scan with the familiar error "dvb: LockedInOnSignal could not lock onto channel - no signal or bad signal" in the log. 3. DvbViewer works fine when the mediaportal tvservice fails. Will keep trying.
