[QUOTE="calcon79, post: 514357, member: 87804"] Does anyone know how to setup a Cable STB that is hooked up through firewire? There are old threads that discuss a CaptureCardDefinitions.xml and using GraphEdit. I cannot find this xml file on my computer and I have enabled hidden files as well as viewing of protected OS files. I am suspecting that with the newer version of MP, this might be done differently. It certainly seems that it is possible to have MediaPortal detect my STB as a tuner, I just cannot seem to figure it out. I have tried searching for a solution but have been unsuccessful. I have only found a few hints via google that that is possible. I also found some guides online showing how to set it up for MCE, BTV, and Sage TV. None of these I have. I cannot install the firestb.msi file for MCE because I do not have that version of Windows. The installer gives me an error about this. I have figured out how to set up TV Server to use Composite or S-Video inputs on my HVR-1950 tuner. I can also setup the ServerBlaster plugin and I can successfully change channels. What I am trying to do now is get TV Server to see my Motorola DCH3200 STB which is connected through Firewire. I have verified that recording works using CapDVHS. It appears that I am one of the lucky ones who can record all of my channels through FireWire. I can even record HBO/Cinemax/Stars etc. Also it allows me to record all of the HD channels. I just want to find a way to integrate this into TVServer and take advantage of scheduling recordings with my STB. Can anyone provide any help with this? It would be nice to have a guide since other PVR software programs are starting to post guides on how to set up a firewire STB with their program. My setup is posted below.
