I always thought it was a codec issue too, indeed I thought I even managed to resolve the issue by changing the decoder in media portal prior to the tv server. I was always under the impression that changing the decoder could improve the recording. There never seems to be any artefacts when I watch the tv through MP, only when I view the recordings.So to just confirm, there is nothing I can do to fix the artefacts by changing the codec/decoder?</blockquote>
