</ol>you should be aware that the stream you get from dvb is not the same as you get from a DVD, even if its using the same codec (mpeg2).the stream you get from dvb has many error-correction informations included.with tools like pvastrumento you can fix minor issues in an recorded mpg file and reduce the filesize a bit because these error-correction informations are removed.I am not sure, but i think that other applications maybe are able to do that on the fly during recording. &lt;&lt;&lt;---- but thats only a guess!!!!</blockquote>
