    Dear all,

    the following problem occurs here in my system when I schedule recordings with overlapping times that collide:
    - sometimes the conflict warning appears, sometimes not

    My setup:
    - MP 1.4, single seat
    - 1 DVB-T TV card

    Are there any ideas or similar experiences? Will post the logs later on.

    Regards Fafnir.

    Hello Fafnir

    the following problem occurs here in my system when I schedule recordings with overlapping times that collide:

    - sometimes the conflict warning appears, sometimes not
    The conflict warning should only appear if:
    1. You are recording two programs with overlapping times.
    2. The program channels are broadcast on different frequencies.
    About the second condition...
    DVB-T channels are broadcast like this:

    Frequency 1
    • channel 1
    • channel 2
    • channel 3
    Frequency 2
    • channel 4
    • channel 5
    TV Server allows you to record channel 1, 2 and 3 or channel 4 and 5 with one tuner. You only need two tuners when you want to view/record channel 1/2/3 and channel 4/5.

    So, I suspect when TV Server is not warning about conflicts it is because the channels are on the same frequency and there is really no conflict.

    Nope, just nope. This has changed with the installation of 1.4 and wasn't the same with the previous versions, I can tell that for sure because I started recording two series which overlap with 1.3.1 and since 1.4 there is no further conflict warning, but still some records are cut.

    If there was no conflict, then there is no reason for to start the first record and to start the second recording only after the first one is finished.

    I will post my logs later on, as promised. Let's see if there is something helpful inside.

    Best regards, Fafnir.

    Took longer than expected...here my logs for the above explained problem.

    Thanks for any idea. This week I met the problem again: different frequencies, overlapping recordings but no message. Whereas the second record files starts after the end time of the first one. Thus the second one isn't complete.

    Kind regards Fanfir

    Hello again Fanfir

    Please provide the TV Server log files - they are the most important (I can do nothing with these MP logs) - and also, please mention the names and start/end times of the programs that you attempted to record.

    Thanks,
    mm

    This time the TV server log...my bad to provide the wrong files.

    please mention the names and start/end times of the programs that you attempted to record.
    I made two tests for overlapping records on different frequencies.
    1st: Inu Yasha - VIVA - 2013-08-23 and nano - 3sat - 2013-08-23
    2nd: Beastmaster - Herr der Wildnis - TELE 5 - 2013-08-23 and Tagesschau - Das Erste - 2013-08-23

    The pattern is the same as described before, that there appears no message for a conflict.
    As a matter of fact, the mini TV guide doesn't show the red symbol on channels that are in conflict the one being recorded currently...
    Since years I do only have a single DVB-T card.

    Do you have an idea?

    THX in advance.

    Strange, I did upload them - maybe Aurora crashed...

    Thanks. :)
    So, now I can see how the recordings are scheduled. First thing to say: you seem to have two DVB-T tuners.

    Since years I do only have a single DVB-T card.
    TV Server thinks you have two:
    [2013-08-22 04:05:12,799] [Log ] [TVService] [INFO ] - Controller: NOT preloading card :WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0)
    [2013-08-22 04:05:12,799] [Log ] [TVService] [INFO ] - Controller: NOT preloading card :RadioWebStream Card (builtin)
    [2013-08-22 04:05:12,799] [Log ] [TVService] [INFO ] - Controller: NOT preloading card :MediaPortal IPTV Source Filter
    [2013-08-22 04:05:12,799] [Log ] [TVService] [INFO ] - Controller: NOT preloading card :Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod

    You can even see this in TV Server configuration. Just go look at the tuner list:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...uration/TV-Server_Configuration/02_TV_Servers

    I don't know how you managed to make Windows and TV Server think that you have two tuners if you only have one card with one tuner. In any case the reason why no conflict is shown can now easily be understood. If TV Server thinks you have two tuners then it won't raise a conflict message unless you attempt to record three programs which are all from different channels on different frequencies.

    To be clear, TV Server scheduled your recordings like this:

    Inu Yasha [594000 kHz] 18:13-18:50 => card 3.
    nano [530000 kHz] 18:23-19:00 => card 2.

    Beastmaster - Herr der Wildnis [594000 kHz] 13:58-15:05 => card 3.
    Tagesschau [706000 kHz] 14:53-15:10 => card 2.

    I note that nano and Tagesschau failed. Card 2 always seems to fail to lock on signal.

    First of all: half a million thanks for your support in almost lightspeed!

    Hmm, the only idea that I have where the second card comes from: On changing to MP 1.4 I imported the channels and so on from an export I made from within TV server config.
    Can it be? The Nova card is a defect PCI card that I had almost a year before...

    After removal from the server setup conflict managment is back.

    Thanks a lot!
