Hi there,

i use a dual-tuner tv-card in mp.
I´ve indentified, that the tv-server ist not able to grab epg on 2 channels with both tuners at the same time.
The server grabs first the epg of the one channel, and after that it grabts the epg of the other channel.

What i testet and my settings in tvserver config:

- epg grabbing only for 2 channels
- channel 1 only mapped to tuner 1
- channel 2 only mapped to tuner 2 (with and without option "epg only")
- refresh epg
- watched tv server manual control

--> only one tuner 1 is grabbing, tuner 2 is idle

After refreshing again, tuner 2 is grabbing the other channel and tuner 1 is idle
I never seen both tuners simultaniously grabbing.

Not a bug - EPG grabbing is done only for one tuner at the time. This was chosen quite long time ago since years back the SQL updates were causing easialy playback issues.

An improvement suggestion should be opened if simultaneous EPG grabbing is wanted, but it is highly unlikely that no one will implement such. It would be much more wise to fix the deadlock issues that we already have with a single thread grabbing the EPG (somehow no one is interested to fix those - me included as the DVB stream that I receive wont trigger the issue ).

oh, what a bummer. I tried my best to assist the autor of this thread to get it working just to hear that it was never possible
I thought, that if someone rewrite the configuration tool in a way that no channel can be mapped for EPG grabbing twice it should avoid most conflicts.

Yes, it´s a pitty. But i guess, i can live without this feature.
I won´t do a implement suggestion, because i think it´s more important to improve performance and especially
the stability of the tv-server. So perhaps in the future,
the epg-grabbing (with one tuner) could be as fast as it is with every stand-alone-receiver...
