TV Server log - TV Server log -PMT Pid wasn't found on the PAT (2 Viewers)

Lately, my logs have become filled with these messages. The end result is that I can't watch the TV channel.
I have researched the problem and found two things of note:

The problem is that mantis only solves the problem with Pmt Pid

My problem is that my provider also changes service id so I can't fix this by setting pmt pid to 0.
This is becoming an increasing problem for me since the provider is changing channel parameters on a weekly basis.

Even worse: if I rescan the channels, they will be added as new channels, not as updated existing channels, even though channel name matches - I'm using IPTV so channel name is easily assured to match.

So I was wondering - is there a setting in MediaPortal which would "scan" the channel upon viewing? That is, get the stream from grabber (IPTV in my case) and just determine the parameters from what it gets and not from what is stored in the channel table.
Something like what is done in the above mantis, only that it would go for everything but the most basic parameter (the actual UDP URL)

Have you guys tried to rescan your tuners? channels might have moved to a different frequency

Hi I see this also,
rescanning is not helping, because the old channels are not deleted, and new channels are added. The problem is, that you cannot tell wich channel is the correct one, from the tvserver configuration.

I don´t think that it´s a problem of the channel-change.

The TV-Server just does not recognize that there was a change in the channel (PID / SID)


The old one:

15-03-2011 19:42:01.328 Recorder: TIMESHIFT got pmt - tableid: 0x2 section_length: 80 sid: 0x5e2c

The new one:

15-03-2011 20:02:55.765 pmtgrabber: grab pmt:104 sid:2f47

So from my point of view, this "pmtgrabber" grabs the PID once and then never again.

When the Timeshift cannot start and ends, and when you retune the channel again you can see the following in the log:

15-03-2011 20:02:57.328 Recorder: TIMESHIFT Old pids cleared

So I think after that, the ID´s seem to be cleared by "TIMESHIFT" and then grabbed again, because the channel can be tuned then and you can see the new PID and Service ID in the logs appearing....

It is not a problem of channel scanning...


I don´t know why that happens. What about a standard set-top box? - I think those devices must handle the same situation. The ID´s are changing, but the normal set-top box can handle it and can tune the next channel with the new ID´s. There are no problems that the channel cannot be tuned.

Exactly!
The problem is only that MP remembers the service id and pmt pid at the time of the scan, but those may change.
The frequency (URL in my case - IPTV) remains the same.

As I said: the situation with pmt pid is already solved, but not so for ServiceId it seems.

You´re right.

PID is solved
SID is not solved

Because I´ve got exactely the same error that the Service ID differs...

And it seems that´s the reason why we cannot tune the channel...

I think this should be addressed to the developers (bugtracker)
