Hi,

After reviewing all videos I still can't get the TV Stream for a MP on another PC working. It works perfect for the local machine, but not in the network. The MP on the network client can connect to the TVServer and all TV menu items are enabled, but nothing happens if you press e.g. TV.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Rainer

UPDATE: I use a 3com 8 port GigaBit Switch as router and I'm not in a domain

Same to me.

Single Seat works perfectly, TV-Server Manual Control too.

But to other Clients in the Network got the Message Connect to TV-Server, but have no EPG, Channel List, ...

My Router and Switch for the Network is a Fritz Box

I had the same problem.

Sometimes the "SQL Server Browser" doesn't start automatically.

So,
Open Surface Area Configuration under All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration tools -> SQL Server Service Area Configuration.

Select "SQL server Browser" -> Automatically and Start it.

After that, for me it was ok.

Could you please be more specific about which ports have to be opened?

I have the same problem (cannot connect from a remote client to the TV-Server - client on the server works great).

I added the MP programs and 2 of the SQL programs to the exception list on both the server and the client PC, but have not opened any ports...

Should this have gone in the Media portal video series on how to set up SQLServer 2005? Or are there some exceptions where you don't have to do this?

I've just had to change this setting and it took me quite a while to find this thread.
