Hi
First post - so be gentle please!
I have a media server running Windows Home Server (based on Server 2003) and a number of clients running XP SP3 and Vista with SP1.
I have been running a RC2 version of TV-Server using SQLExpress on the WHS box and serving TV to client PC's running MP Client software at 1.0 RC2. Been very impressed and happy so far.
I decided to upgrade to RC3 and did this successfully on both the XP SP3 and Vista clients. All was well until trying TV when I got a change address dialog for the TV server - followed by a connected to TV server, cannot connect to database. I did some trawling of these forums and found that you need to upgrade the TV server as well as the database name has changed.
I tried this but ran into a problem with the pre-requisites. Whereas RC2 installed fine on WHS (albeit with some warnings), RC3 seems to require WMP11 (for which Microsoft has decided not to publish a WHS/Server2003 version). So I cannot install the TV server.
Is my only option to revert the client PCs to RC2. Or is there a clever way of renaming the database so it will work both with the RC3 clients and the RC2 TV Server?
Thanks for any advice here.
