    You're welcome :)
    Just to be clear: are you saying that the patch fixes your problem? If so, I'd be interested to see your tv.log file...

    I had only the time to do a quick TV test. Within my 15 minutes test there was no channel switching issue anymore. But that could also be luck.
    Today evening i will do a comprehensive test and of course i can give you the log afterwads.

    AW: TV Server: weak DVB-S signals

    Hi,
    i tested it the whole yesterday evening and the issue appeared again.
    The log says:
    2010-10-28 21:47:10.274174 [(13)]: dvb: LockedInOnSignal locked: False, present: False, quality: 0, strength: 0

    I know that it is also a TV-card driver problem but the strange thing is that win 7 mediacenter and DVBViewer can handle this driver "bug".
    do you know why some lines above signal strength is ok?:
    2010-10-28 21:46:15.742055 [(18)]: ***** SIGNAL LEVEL: 89, SIGNAL QUALITY: 100 *****

    Log is attached.

    Thomas

    Hi again toga67

    The log indicates that you only have trouble with a few channels. It is possible for some transponders to be okay (2010-10-28 21:46:15.742055 [(18)]: ***** SIGNAL LEVEL: 89, SIGNAL QUALITY: 100 *****) while others are not. This might be caused by your dish or LNB being slightly out of line.

    Tuning to "KiKa" (KIKA - Der KinderKanal) seems to be a problem. Tuning failed four times and succeeded two times. When it failed, your Technotrend TV card returned:

    Locked = false
    Present = false
    Quality = 0
    Strength = 0

    This is different to my Pinnacle card which returns:

    Locked = false
    Present = true
    Quality = 0
    Strength = 87

    It is *very strange* that quality was 100% and strength was 79% when lock did succeed. If that transponder was weak then I'd have expected quality and/or strength to be lower than that...

    Unfortunately I can't explain your card's driver behaviour. What I can say is that my patch won't have any effect for you. The only thing I can do is to make a new patch that completely ignores the driver and assumes that the card is locked. If you want to try this then try the DLL attached to this post. There is no risk of damage to your card, however there is also no guarantee that it will work. Personally I would be interested to see the log. If it doesn't work then there is nothing else that I can do to help you. :(

    Thanks a lot for your help. Now the screen is getting black if Quality = 0 and Strength = 0. It seems to me that it is a TV-card driver bug or a combination of bad satellite signal and driver. Thanks a lot for your help. I will write technotrend an email and hopefully they will fix the bug soon.

    Yes, the black screen means that the signal really isn't there. I recommend that you check your dish and cabling...

    Sorry :(

    Your TVLibrary.dll did for me the trick as well. After Update to 1.1.2 (or earlier) the DVB-S scanning and tuning did not work anymore.
    I even had added extern power supply to the TV card (Terratec Cinergy S2-PCI). Now - after I installed you DLL it works again.
    Can you please make sure that this will be part of the next release?
    The problem is hard to find and shows up maybe only if you have multiple-cards, a weak power supply and a dish that is far away - but I am not sure.
