TV-Server Windows 2013 dvb-t issues (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I know it's not strictly supported but thought I might ask.

Similarly to other threads on here I want Mediaportal TV server running on my Windows Server 2012 machine as it's always on. I think I've done the BDA install thing OK - DVBViewer Transedit can see all my cards, scan, analyse and see channels etc.

Mediaportal TV server does see the cards, and everything looks good until I come to do a scan. The scan window just gives lots of 'nothing found' messages in red, but there are some exceptions caught in the TVService Log which I've attached.

It's a vanilla install, new database, all I've done is slightly update the Billsdale frequencies XML as it was out of date.

Please could anyone give me any ideas? I've tried the Blackgold BGT twin DVB-T tuners and the 290e DVB-T2 nanostick but both have the same result.

I'm really up for this and will completely change the OS on my server if I need to, but it would be a mammouth undertaking and the virtualisation in particular on Server 2012 is useful to me so I'd rather not.

Hoping for some inspiration!

    Hello and welcome ears :)

Looks like you're running a non-standard version of TV Server. Maybe DJBlu's custom data grabber?
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...r-including-sky-uk-channel-epg-grabber.96767/

I can see that various components of TV Server (eg. streaming server, TsWriter) haven't installed correctly. In any case, we're not able to provide support for this configuration. Please get support from the person who provided this custom version.

Thanks mm - and thanks for the welcome!

Funnily enough I came to the same conclusion myself and thought rather than bother DJBlu, who specialises in the EPG stuff anyway and won't want to be worried about whether my DVB-T cards tune or not, I'd bin everything and start again with standard MP 1.4, which I've now done.

And I've got further. Channels tuned and my BlackGold is working perfectly.

However, problems now with the 290e. It tunes OK and scans OK but is recording lots of discontinuities. I don't think it's signal - in fact I know it's not. The BlackGold is not recording any and the 290e works perfectly with DVBViewer which I've installed (but now disabled) on the same PC for testing.

I've attached a new TVService.log file - again I'd be grateful for any pointers!

    Thank you.

If you run a virus or malware scanner like MS Security Essentials, please ensure that the MediaPortal and TV Server install/program, setting, timeshift and record folders are excluded.

Thanks again mm - all done, but no change. No discontinuities whatsoever with the BlackGold tuners, but loads - increasing constantly - with the 290e.

Please zip up and attach the full set of TV server logs.

The PCTV 290e should work fine with MP (I use it myself, as do many other users).

Also add your system specs to your user profile (and make them visible).

Here's more logs - thank you. I've noticed it's not just the 290e. Also getting similar errors with the BlackGold satellite tuners, which I now have connected. I've disabled and completely switched off antivirus just to make sure it wasn't that, and have also tried using a different disk for timeshift, with the same results.

So frustrating - really want to use this software! All tuners work fine in DVBVIewer Recording service on the same machine.

Is Windows Server 2012 doing something else to the files? I'll go and fill in the technical profile now.
