For some strange reason I have started to get errors with the TV server service not starting in time for the TV Client on a single seat PC. I fix this by closing the client, and starting the tv-server manually and then restarting the client and all is well. I seem to remember an option to delay the client until the tv server had started, but I cant find it any more? Can someone remind me where this option is in RC3? The service is set to start automatically, but for some reason this has stopped working now, I noticed this morning some SQL error messages in the logs, but I won't be able to post them until I get back tomorrow

    Thx in advance

I am having a smiler problem. after a reboot or startup, the TVService states that it is starteded, but the client can not connect to it. the way I fix this is I close the MP client and restart the TVServer service (which says it's started) and re-launch the MP client. everything is set to auto launch when windows starts and I do have the client delaying 30 sec. this is on a single system setup.

You can find the delay in the MediaPartal Config (not in the app it self)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    TV server wont auto-start

I have a similar, though perhaps less complex problem. I have just installed Media Portal for the first time and have manged to get it working, however I want to have MP start automatically. The problem is that the TV server will not start automatically, even though when I check the TV SERVICE line in 'services.msc' the "startup type" is set to automatic. I am not sure why it does not start automatically and because of this I can not get MediaPortal and my TV to start either. Everytime I start Windows (XP) I have to manually click on 'TV-Server Configuration' to get the server to start and then I can start MP TV. Can anyone help with this problem. As I mentioned I am very new to MP and as such am a bit of a novice. Thank you.

Same experience here, reboot, start tv config, select yes to start tv service, all good.
Be better if it correctly autostarted.
