    Hello.
This is an issue I remember since long time but forget to tell about. As I yesterday installed new SVN Version now I see it again... After installing MediaPortal the TV Service is not started automatic.

    How to reproduce:
Do a fresh install of MediaPortal (1.2 Beta or SVN, did not matter). then restart your system. TVService.exe is not running as it should be. Go to Control Panel look for Services and see the start parameter of TV Service is set to manual. This should be automatic, I think as with manual start no TV Recordings are possible after a restart of PC until you start MediaPortal Client.

For me this seems to be an issue of installer.

I did non know witch logs are needed, if any. I've attached the TV Server install- log. The client install- log is not available, deleted all "old" logs due some skin testing, sorry...

Be really nice if the Recovery options could also default to 'Restart the service'.

Though most of the mystery failures I see require a reboot to kill TvService and XP then fails to start the service on boot whatever options I set!
