Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and could provide any pointers...

setup:

mediaprotal latest stable, but have experienced with previous versions too,

tv server running on a separate machine, windows 7 professional patched to the latest and greatest.
using 2 x hd homerun tuners running latest firmware

Client machine hooked up to my tv via hdmi running windows 7 home running same version of media portal as the tv server.

I have the services setup for mediaportal driod too.

What's the problem..

when watching recorded tv on the main client the tv server service on the remote server will crash, never crashes when watching live tv. Doesn't happen all the time but in say a 1 hour show may happen 2/3 times. Connection is lost and you need to restart the tv service it to continue, ( i have windows monitoring the service and auto starts it when it fails)

Also when using media portal driod watching even live tv will cause drop outs where the tv service will crash.

Any ideas would be most appreciated, been living with this for a while and it is now driving me to distraction :(

Hi

thanks for the response I will upload all this asap, one question though, how to I setup the tv server to run in debug mode, looks like "MediaPortal Debug-Mode"is not in the start menu. is the a different process for separate tv servers ?

thanks heaps for you help!

Hi All

Not sure if anybody is watching this space, but I have a little more info.

The crash seem to only happen when you hit the fast forward button.

I found the logs directory of the TV server. I cleaned out the directory, started the service watch it crash and copied out the logs.
Hopefully they will lead to some clue about what is going on.

see attached.,

Can you look at the system and application event logs for the time it crashed - around 10-09-2013 17:42:23 - and post the crash information (the MP logs just stop, so nothing useful in those about why it crashed.

Is this running in a VM ? Does it work OK if it's running 'native' ?
