[fixed] TV show seen as radio (1 Viewer)

Help please!!!! (I'm using RC4).

I am having two problems. The first - and major one - is that for reasons I simply cannot work out, one TV show records correctly but will only play back as a radio show. This is not happening for any other TV show.

TV Server log attached shows that, as far as I can interpret, Saturday Kitchen is correctly recorded to the Public Recorded TV folder. MediaPortal log shows that on playback it sees this show as a radio show and therefore doesn't play the video (the .TS file is correct - using Windows Media Player it plays perfectly).

Can someone please point me at whatever has got itself set to see this programme only as a radio show!

The other problem is that EPG grabbing is taking priority over scheduled recordings. The same TVServer log shows that at 08.53 the system woke up to record Saturday Kitchen, but immediately started EPG grabbing using the DVB-S card that I had expected to be used for recording (it is the priority 1 card). The recording therefore went to the priority 2 card (DVB-T).

I'm fairly sure that this did not happen with previous versions on MP. How can I ensure that the priority one card takes priority for recording?

Please follow the guidelines and supply all logs (in debug mode as this is reproducible)

I think this is related to an error in mediainfo but without full logs I am only guessing

Thanks - but I have now deleted the programme and there won't be another until next Saturday - so I can't reproduce until then. As I said, it only happened with the Saturday Kitchen programme.

OK, a week has passed and the problem has occurred again on the same programme.

Unfortunately, I simply cannot get MP to run in debug mode. I start MP in debug mode, reproduce the problem, then exit MP. I always then get "MP stopped working" followed by an unhandled exception saying:

"Unble to translate unicode character \uD9D8 at index 730 to specified code page."

The full detail of the error is contained in the attached file.

I still cannot view the programme. I recorded other programmes on the same channel on the same day - no problem.

As for the actual issue you should be able to manually collect (all) the log files zip them up and attach here. Without the logs we are unable to see any issues

I suspect you are having a mediainfo.dll revision issue... look at my Mediainfo.dll broken (for me) above ver 0.7.30 thread and see if using a version older than 0.7.31 included in MP will work for your 'select' files that no longer work yet play as "radio" using just the audio track. I suspect you will be able to play the 'select' files via MPC-HC and WMP just fine as well. Let us hear back from you.

I have the exact same problem. 6 hours of Wimbledon tennis playable only as radio. Not good. Will try and capture logs when the wife lets me.

I've just tried it using MediaInfo.dll 7.29 and 7.31 using the Sourcforge link you provided in your thread. Unfortunately neither made any difference. The show is still seen as radio. I have also tried the new .dll as suggested by Chemelli in your other thread. This doesn't solve the problem either.

I am making the assumption here that the only thing that needs replacing is the .dll file in the main MP directory?

OK, Ive manually collected the current log files from the MP and TVServer log directories having lust reproduced the problem, and they are attached.

Are there any other logs needed?

This is possibly not quite the same issue as others have seen as you do not have the errors about loading MediaInfo dll.

Not got time to look in depth now but this is recorded TV from last night (not ongoing recording)? Is it DVB-T? HD or SD? Does it have any audio with is not stereo?

You do seem to be having some issues with creating thumbnails on some programs. If you disable thumbnail creation in config does this still get played as audio only?

Finally if you rename the file from ts to mkv and play it via MyVideos does this work with video?
