If TV Subtitles are enabled, they are displayed always by default when starting MP.

Hi!

I have a little issue with TV subtitles. I live in Spain and from time to time I like to watch a movie in English (some TV stations use dual language soundtracks), but I need the subtitles to fully understand everything... I send the 'L' command with my remote to activate / deactivate them.

Now the question is that I find only two different configurations, and none of them satisfy me 100%:

  1. MP configuration: TV / TV Client / Subtitle settings: Enable DVB subtitles OFF and Enable teletext subtitles OFF: Then TV starts with no subtitles and they never can be activated at all.
  2. MP configuration: TV / TV Client / Subtitle settings: Enable DVB subtitles ON and Enable teletext subtitles ON: Then whenever MP starts, TV starts always with subtitles on screen, although I can deactivate or activate them with my remote at any time.

This happen with MP 1.1 RC 4, but it did also happen with previous versions...

So I need to enable these options, but it is quite boring having always to switch off subtitles every time I turn on MP.

Concluding: If subtitles are enabled, then they are displayed by default. Is there any way to have subtitles displayed on screen ONLY when I want them?

I am attaching two sets of logs if this could provide any help: First with subtitles not enabled (pressing 'L' has no effect); Second with subtitles enabled and displayed as TV starts (pressing 'L' changes from DVB to teletext subs, and then they are switched off).

:D

    Thanks.

I think that it will be a new nice feature (quite easy to implement). But I am afraid that I have to wait till MP 2...

Yes, it would be quite easy to implement. Hopefully someone in the comminuty has time to develop a patch and such feature could be added to 1.2.0.
