TV transmission over the Internet (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I have a question about TV transmission over the Internet. In the near future I am going to the USA and I want there to have Polish television. My plan is this:
In Poland I put TVServer with an Internet connection 100/50 Mbit / s, in NY I have MediaPortal frontend.

My question is whether you think it will work? Is it possible the transmission of television over the Internet.
Does the link speed will be enough (and the distance between the server and the client will not be too large).
What speed connection do I need to watch SD and HD channels?

Has anyone tested this solution on this or a similar distance?

Yes it is possible. You need to set up port forwarding to make the TV Server and database accessible from outside your network. Check out -->this<-- thread where this same subject is discussed.

OK, so I know that this is possible. And if anyone has experience in this type of solutions? As this solution worked for a long distance, whether it was stable? Is the speed of the internet will be sufficient to transmit two HD channels simultaneously?

Hi again

If 50 Mbit is the real speed that you're getting then it should be more than enough for two channels. HD channel bandwidth is usually between 6 and 15 Mbps.

As for the distance: it is not so much about distance but reliable and stable speed and latency. If the speed is always dropping then you may have problems. If the latency is high then the MP interface may feel sluggish.
