invalid xml file: the data at the root level is invalid. Line1, position 1.

tvguide.xml reads: xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --days 7 --output tvguide.xml

Synopsis: I am trying to autotune the tv channels by importing form tvguide.xml and I just get this message. What's up?

have you ran 'xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --configure' first?
You may have to set up an account with the provider (I didn't, but I am in the UK if that makes any difference).
My xmltv install went like this;
1. run 'xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --configure', choose channels. This creates the tv_grab_na_dd.conf file in /.wmltv.
2. run 'xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --days 7 --output tvguide.xml ', this will create the tvguide.xml file (as I think you know).
3. make sure that the path is set to the correct folder for tvguide.xml in setup.
3. click the 'import from tvguide' button in setup.

this worked for me after some struggles. I know have some manually tuned channels in my tv guide that I need to get rid of, and I can't find them anywhere, so try and stick with the autotune/tvguide option if you can.
Also you may have to delete the tv_grab_na_dd.conf and tvguide.xml files beforehand, as i don't know if they will overwrite or not.
