Not sure if this is the right place to put this but lets have a go.

Something going on with Powerscheduler shutdown settings here.

When playing a video in either MyVideos or RecordedTV if I leave the remote untouched for the Shutdown period as set in the TV Server Plugin settings for PowerScheduler (set as 5 minutes currently), when I stop the video and attempt to launch TV in myTV MP hangs and needs to be killed. MP hangs again when I try to restart it. Recovery by full system reboot. If I'm fiddling with my remote while watching a video and then stop the video prior to the Shutdown period then switching back to myTV is OK.

Suspect something to do with the TV server not aware that MP is "active" in the sense that I am watching a video and related to the detection of idle in Vista. Operation is fine when watching live TV in fullscreen mode and when MP is idle in non-full screen in myTV the machine shutsdown (currently to set to "Suspend") as it should.

Have poked around the forums and haven't seen this reported anywhere else but it is continuously repeatable on my machine.

Thx.

EDIT :
Actually looking around a bit further it looks similar to this :

His is on XP though.

    Hi

Have you got the Powerscheduler Client plugin enabled, in MP\Plugins, mine set to only react in home screen.

There is a known problem with vista, that keyboard\remote\mouse detection does not work, so if you need to stop standby you need to manually "add a process" to the TVServer\Plugin\Powerscheduler.

2008-09-23 11:50:15.692150 [ERROR][MPMain]: Error stopping MCE service "ehRecvr"
2008-09-23 11:50:15.693150 [ERROR][MPMain]: Error stopping MCE service "ehSched"

these i have disabled in Services

    2008-09-23 11:50:57.351150 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed filter:ffdshow Video Decoder not found

Check this is installed correctly, might be worthwhile checking out the Vista codec Pack 64bit version.

Replace the FFDShow mpeg2, with either Avivo or PowerDVD8 Trial codecs under TV\DVD settings.

Can switch between TV - Video -TV with no problem.

Thanks very much for the reply.

Yes I definately have the plugin, that setting change seems to have fixed it (only react in home screen).
I thought I'd killed all the MC processes. I'll definately get rid of those two.

    Thanks again.
