TVSeries with external player (1 Viewer)

Is it possible to make TV Series play episodes in an external player like MPC?

Maybe it will use the external player if setup in MP configuration Movies use external player checkbox?
My thoughts about this is that MPC is the only player (as far as I know) that supports DXVA and subtitles.

Will there be any downside to setup MP and TVseries like this?

Should work if you configure my movies to use the external player.

Only downside (other than loosing osd and all that stuff) is that an episode will immediatly be marked as watched if you begin playback, since we have no way to know the stop time. Obviously resuming from a previous point within an episode won't work either.

I just tried a bit. Yeah it's working. But as you said. You loose all nice things. And I also need to learn my remote to handle MPC etc.
I am just doing some testings now because my system can not handle x264 at the moment and I am thinking about a new graphic card with dxva. But if I can not use subs it is useless for me since I can not convince my g/f to buy a new card. (She reuquires subs).
