    Hi,

I am new to MediaPortal so pls bear with me. :)

I have tried installing the latest snapshot of TVserver. I can get TVserver up and running (scans channels which I can preview) but the client does not seem to install correctly in MP. I have deleted the tuner in MP config, but when I start up MP expecting the TVserver plugin installation to start it just goes to standard MP instead.

I have some erorrs in my logs (sql and tvserver) but I don't know what corrective action to take - all my attempts to fix so far have been fruitless.

Logs attached and hoping someone can help. Thks!

I have this same problem. When I go to install the TV Client the option is greyed out and it says in brackets (MediaPortal not Installed) So I am not even ablt to install the client. I am running the latest SVN's and I can assure you I have mediaportal installed.

I have fixed this now. I hadn't set up the TV client in the TV Server Configuration. Channel tuning is rather slow but it works. I could only get full screen picture using EVR, will try again with VMR9 later.

I am also having the same problem the TV Client option greyed out. I have followed all the instructions and removed the old versions of the software but no joy. The TV server works fine and another client computer works fine with the old version of the client installed. I am fairly new to this and feel certain I am doing something wrong so any help to get me going again would be great.

Did anyone else get a message on installing TVE3, about Microsoft Visual Studio 2005sp1 not being installed, as had to update this (even though it was installed already) this is with Vista Ultimate.

Are all your TVServer, TVServer client and MP versions the same and did you install in order

TVServer and then MPsvn + TV client plugin.

I assume he means Visual C++ and not visual studio .. :D

unfortunatly, Mediaportal includes a silent install of the older Visual C++(NOT SP1) ...
TVserver needs SP1 or wont install, the tvserver client needs SP1 and reports a vague error when installing tvserver client without SP1 on your system.

It would be nice if the mediaportal final release could be updated with the SP1 version of visual C++

I don't recall seeing a message of any kind whe instaling tvserver. However I do notice that I have two entries for MS Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable in my Programs and Features list (under control panel). One is 421KB the other is 558KB and both are named identically.

it is no problem installing tvserver, you already had to install SP1..
    the problem is with clients..
    Tvserverplugin requires SP1 ..
and mediaportal (or the SVN , I dont know for sure anymore) comes bundled with the older release of C++

Found it... This is the error is when installing tvplugin without C++ SP1 on your system..
