I tried the windows 7 tools which comes from here I guess : http://win7suspendresume.codeplex.com/
And just for test, I launched a batch file with a 30sec timeout and select "wait till end" option into win7suspendresume program. The batch file starts on suspend but only for 2 secondes after that, windows still goes to standby without waiting the end of the batch file... Did you get same issues?
