I downloaded MP (SVN 27837), compiled and installed MP and TvService on clean machine. I started TvService and TV-Server Configuration tool. I selected DVB-IP MediaPortal IPTV Source Filter and from Service combobox I selected my test channel (streamed video by VLC). I pressed Scan for channels and wait. After scanning I closed TV-Server Configuration tool and stopped TvService.

TV-Server Configuration tool wrote than channel is without signal. But in logs is different information. TsWriter log has information that something was found and same information is in tv log.

The same problem has MP 1.2.0 Aplha, see thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-2-0-alpha-536/tvserver-while-scanning-doesnt-add-new-iptv-channels-95786/.

    similar problem here

    1. I installed MP 1.2.0 Beta
    2. Imported 1.1.2 channels through saved export.xml -> MP imported all channels
    3. Noticed some channels were not working. in TV config they gave error: channel not mapped to card
    4. Deleted channels
    5. Started new import with same .m3u as 1.1.2 (m3u is working in VLC player)
    6. It imports some channels, but appears to 'heap' channels from same provider in 1 channel, giving 'new: 1 updated: 0' on the first found channel and ' new: 0, updated 1' on the second. When 'creating group for each provider' is selected the different channels are detected and placed under same name in different providergroups. (selecting 'provider doesn't uniquely etc..' doesnt seem to matter, same problem)
    7. Completely clean install (format HD etc) -> same problem.

    which logs are needed?

    Hi again bhengeveld

I see the problem. Your IP-TV provider is using the same TSID + ONID + SID combination for all channels. The only difference between each channel is the IP address and or port. This is a problem because according to DVB specifications each channel should have a different ONID + SID (or at least TSID + ONID + SID) combination. In other words, your provider is not DVB compliant. Are you able to contact your provider and ask them to fix this?

    I could try :)

Could I workaround this one with georguis' patchwork?

bhengeveld: What is your IPTV provider?

I am starting to read the specific DVB-IP specs now to see if they differ from normal DVB operation. So i am not sure now the rules we mention apply to DVB-IP too.

What is it that actually changed in 1.2.0 that makes the difference with 1.1.2 in channel detection?
