I see monumental cpu usage by TVSERVICE when MP GUI (local) is in MYTV. (with or without video playback.)

Normal usage has tvservice.exe around 2% in all other MP gui screens but when in MP MYTV the cpu rises to 60% and stays there until I exit to any other GUI screen.

    Logs attached.

Anyone else seeing similar .Affects XP and VISTA the same. Haven't tested network clients yet.

    Hi Sci

How you measuring this, as tried with windowed mode vmr9 and fullscreen\windowed evr, still getting 2-4% cpu in MyTV.

Try it without video playback as mine goes much higher than with video playback

One of us has a problem, and thankfully, it don't look like me :)

using mssql limited to 128mb, Nvidia driver 175xx on default settings.

Cannot think of anything else that should make that kind of difference between our 2 systems.

Network client caused the same behaviour on the server side tvservice .exe

Both clients used B2wide, could it be a skin problem ? I'll change skin.

Nope B2 and the same rise to 60% cpu usage.

    This is odd

(wheen the vista snip tool is in focus the tvservice drops to 30% hence the above thumnail doesn't show 60%)

Nothing is added to the TVSERVER logs either during this period of high cpu usage.

CPU usage stays high even when minimised to systray MYTV last focus.

If i then exit MP the cpu usage drops, this is freaking me out lol

This is with Network client attached and NO local client.

MYTV is the GUI page that is the only one to cause this oddity.

Edit. I tried the XFACE skin and had the same reults.

    Ill look into this.

once in a while this problem seems to popup again.

Its often b/c the client calls a lot of methods on the server.
Too many calls per. sec often results in this.

    mantis ?
    anyone.

That worked perfectly SVN 19472 used for test.

CPU usage remained consistant moving between GUI pages and with video or no video. Same with MP in systray.

Even the movement in the MYTV GUI selections is much smoother .FPS don't drop dramaticaly also, remaining close to vsync in all GUI pages .

What was the actual problem ?:D
