When it resumes from standby any attempt to view live TV causes MediaPortal to stop responding, and it has to be killed from Task Manager. After a bit of digging I discovered that the reason was that TvService.exe seemed to have completely frozen. Although TvService.exe can be killed from Task Manager, if I try to stop or restart it properly (i.e. from Computer Management -> Services and Applications -> Services) the attempt simply times out with this error: Could not stop the TVService on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.</p><p></p><p>I have reinstalled everything many times, and I have just done a(nother) complete reinstall of XP MCE with all updates, and removed all unnecessary hardware (remote receiver, most TV cards), leaving a single Hauppauge DVB-T card.
